Cancer exercise programme info session
Last summer, Mayo Cancer Support was delighted to partner with the University of Galway to offer local cancer patients and cancer survivors the opportunity to participate in the new Can-REACT tailored cancer exercise programme.
The take-up was phenomenal and we are excited to reveal that talks are now underway to run the Can-REACT programme again in early 2025.
This is a multidisciplinary programme that spans all types of cancer and aims to increase participants’ health, fitness and quality of life.
It combines personalised exercise with proper nutritional advice to maximise your recovery. The programme is flexible and allows you to be in charge.
It is carried out at an intensity appropriate for you and progressed at a pace that allows you to manage and safely alleviate your cancer treatment-related symptoms.
New participants are now being recruited. Those who completed the programme with us last year can also avail of an advanced programme in 2025 and Can-REACT can also be tailored for children/teens who are recovering from cancer.
A Can-REACT information session will be hosted at our headquarters, Rock Rose House (F23 P659), in Castlebar on Monday, January 27th at 12pm. All are welcome to attend to find out more about this innovative programme.
