Can-REACT exercise programme

Mayo Cancer Support is delighted to be working in partnership with the University of Galway to offer local cancer patients and cancer survivors the opportunity to participate in the new Can-REACT tailored cancer exercise programme.

This is a multidisciplinary programme that spans all types of cancer and aims to increase participants’ health, fitness and quality of life.

It combines personalised exercise with proper nutritional advice to maximise your recovery. The programme is flexible and allows you to be in charge.

It is carried out at an intensity appropriate for you and progressed at a pace that allows you to manage and safely alleviate your cancer treatment-related symptoms.

The Can-REACT programme is scheduled to run again at Mayo Cancer Support early in 2025.

Survive and Thrive

Mayo Cancer Support is please to partner with the Marie Keating Foundation in delivering the Survive and Thrive Programme.

This survivorship focused course was developed by the Marie Keating Foundation in acknowledgement of the increased number of cancer survivors in Ireland and the specific physical, psychological and social needs of cancer survivors.

The Survive and Thrive workshops and seminars help men and women who have finished cancer treatment to adapt to the ‘new normal.’

The next Survive and Thrive Programme at Mayo Cancer Support will run weekly from September 10 to October 22, 20024 every Tuesday at Rock Rose House (F23P659) from 6.30pm to 9pm.

The Work and Cancer Study

Mayo Cancer Support to have been approached by Trinity College Dublin with this opportunity to support some exciting cancer-related research.

The Work and Cancer study is geared at those planning to return to work following treatment for breast cancer.

It offers participants the chance to participate in a 6-week online Return to Work programme with an Occupational Therapist.

Recruitment for new participants will get underway in Autumn 2024 and Mayo Cancer Support is excited to offer local breast cancer survivors that meet the research criteria the opportunity to get involved.
